1Bezmialem Vakıf Üniversitesi, Odyoloji, İstanbul, Türkiye Introduction: Electrocochleography is the measurement of electrical activity in the cochlea and acoustic nerve in response to acoustic stimuli. It is known that the components of electrocochleography vary depending on the characteristics of the stimulus and the participants. In the literature, there are not enough studies examining the results of electrocochleography recorded with tiptrode electrodes in Turkish population. For this reason, in our study, it was aimed to examine the relationship between the electrocochleography variables recorded by the tiptrode electrode and age and the evaluated ear in individuals with normal hearing.

Method and Material: The retrospective study conducted between 2016-2021 included 26 young adults between the ages of 21-30 and 20 middle aged adults between the ages of 30-51 without auditory and vestibular complaints. Electrocochleography test was performed at a rate of 11.3/sec with a 90 dB nHL click stimulus.

Results: The SP/AP area ratio of the middle aged adult group was found significantly higher. When the results of the participants were compared as the right and left ears, the AP duration in the right ear was significantly longer. It was observed that AP latencies are prolonged in correlation with age.

Conclusion: Considering the lack of ECochG studies in our country, it has been suggested that creating normative data specific to the use of tiptrode electrodes and similar studies should be planned in the future to add ECochG in routine clinical evaluation.
