ENDOSCOPIC EXCISION FOR INVASIVE SINONASAL ASPERGILLOSIS AND RECONSTRUCTION WITH LOCAL FLAPS: A CASE REPORT
1GATA, KBB, Ankara, Türkiye2GATA, Hematoloji, Ankara, Türkiye Invasive sinonasal fungal disease is a rapidly progressive disease, which usually occurs in immunosuppressed patients. Its mortality rate is still higher in spite of every modern treatment modality. In this study a case of invasive fungal sinusitis, which was seen in a patient who received chemotherapy for acute myelogenous leukemia has been presented. He improved with administration of liposomal amfotericin B and wide excision under endoscopic vision. The defect on his face has been closed with forehead flap and facial advancement flaps. Invasive fungal disease should be kept in mind in immunosuppressed patients with antibiotic resistant sinusitis and appropriate treatment should be started immediately.
