1Yüzüncüyıl Üniversitesi, KBB AD, Van, Türkiye2Yüzüncüyıl Üniversitesi, Radyoloji AD, Van, Türkiye Spontaneous internal jugular vein thrombosis (IJVT) is an extremely rare, potentially life-threatening vascular disorder that is easily overlooked or misdiagnosed. In this paper we present a patient with spontaneous internal jugular vein thrombosis diagnosed by colour doppler ultrasonography(USG) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). No malignancy, coagulation disorder, or any infection was demonstrable. The patient refused any intervetion and further diagnostic evaluation. Six months later symptoms and signs were diminished spontaneously. Keywords : Internal jugular vein, thrombosis, colour doppler ultrasonography, magnetic resonance imaging
