TONGUE CARCİNOMA IN YOUNG ADULTS LESS THAN 25 YEARS OF AGE: OUR OBSERVATİONS BELONGS TO TWO PATİENTS

²SSK Ankara Eğitim Hastanesi, Patoloji Kliniği, Ankara, Türkiye Squmamous cell carcinomas of the oral tongue have different etiologic, oncologic and clinical spesifications in young adults than older patients. Clinical observations indicate that tongue cancers in young adults are more agressive and have worse prognosis than in older patients. In this study, observations for two patients, 20 and 22 years of age are presented. Both patients underwent an agressive therapy for the primary tumor and neck. One patient died in the postoperative 11^th month, because of primary reccurence and the other one is under control without any reccurence in the 14^th postoperative month. Tumors of both patients were negative for p53, p21, p27. Our clinical observations are presented and discussed in the light of current literature. Keywords : Tongue carcinoma, young adults
