INTRATYMPANIC THERAPIES

Afyon Kocatepe Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, KBB Anabilimdalı, Afyonkarahisar, Türkiye In recent years, intratympanic treatment modalities are being used as an alternative therapy to surgical intervention in cohlear disorders which do not respond to medical therapy. Although it is classified under the title of destructive tretment, intratympanic therapies do have therapeutic efficacy also without making destruction. In this article we aimed to present this emerging treatment modality regarding its history, mechanisms of action, routes of administration, and current succes rates.
