1Dr. Sami Ulus Çocuk Hastanesi, KBB, Ankara, Türkiye2Dr. Sami Ulus Çocuk Hastanesi, Neonatoloji, Ankara, Türkiye Halitosis is a social and medical problem in both pediatric and adult age groups. Poor oral hygiene and dental infections are the leading causes of halitosis. Although nasal foreign body is a frequent diagnosis in childhood, its rarely seen as a causative factor for halitosis without unilateral foul smelling nasal discharge. In this case report; a 4 year old child, who suffered from halitosis for 5.5 months despite several treatment attempts, is presented. Nasal foreign body was identified to be the cause of halitosis. Because of complete obstruction of nasal cavity due to a piece of plastic bag, no unilateral, purulent nasal discharge was seen. Halitosis was caused by posteriorly draining nasal discharge. Nasal foreign body should be considered among the childhood halitosis cases. Keywords : Halitosis, etiology, intranasal foreign body
