Okmeydanı Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi, 1.KBB, İstanbul, Türkiye Objectives: To assess the concha bullosa types and to present our experiences in management of concha bullosa over 10 years and to discuss within the concha bullosa with related literature.

Materials and Methods: Surgical interventions were performed on 226 patients (347 CB) for 10 years. Radiological and histopathological findings of these cases were reviewed retrospectively.

Results: 139 of the 226 patients were female and 87 were male. The age at presentation ranged from 14 to 59 years (average age 32, SD: 27.36). The most common complaints were nasal obstruction, headache and potnasal discharge. In 326 (93.95%) of the 347 CB, a pneumatized cavity, in 11 (3.17 %) CB collection of pus (pyocele) was observed. A bony septum, polyp, fungus ball, were the other pathologies associated with CB in 10 (2,88%) cases.

Conclusion: Although most of the CB cases have pneumatized cavity, it should be kept in mind that some other pathologies can be associated with CB. Keywords : Concha bullosa, endoscopic surgery, middle turbinate
