İnönü Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, KBB Anabilim Dalı, Malatya, Türkiye Latent varicella zoster virus reactivation in geniculate ganglion through facial nerve route causes Ramsay Hunt Syndrome. Major clinical symptoms of this syndrome are facial nerve paresia or paralysis, vesicles on the sensory distribution areas of the nerve and otalgia. Other cranial nerve involvements are rare but possible. We reported a 65 year old lady with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome presented with ipsilateral vagus nerve paralysis. The patient had no mucosal vesicular lesions in the larynx. The mild sensory neural hearing loss, facial paralysis and vocal cord paralysis improved with medical treatment. The case was discussed with the relevant literature. Keywords : Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, Vocal cord paralysis, Varicella zoster, VII. Cranial nerve, X. Cranial nerve
