INVASIVE FUNGAL SINUSITIS: A REPORT OF THREE CASES

It is most frequently encountered in diabetics followed by patients that are treated due to leukemia. Rarely, it may be seen in patients without any immune deficiency. Invasive fungal sinusitis is usually caused by the genera of mucoracea that belongs to order mucorales and the class of zygomycetes. It has three groups called as granulamatous, chronic and acute fulminant. It may be fatal if not diagnosed and treated early. In this study, we present three cases with fulminant fungal sinusitis that were diagnosed and treated in our clinic. Keywords : Mucormycosis, fungal infections, orbital diseases
