TULAREMIA CASES AROUND SAMSUN REGION

F. tularensis is a gram-negative, immotile cocobacillus. Contaminated water, rodents, rabbits, ticks, mosquitos, turtles, sheep, birds and deers may be the routes of transmission. The clinical picture may develop in ulceroglandular, glandular, oculoglandular, oropharyngeal, pulmonary or typhoid forms. In this study; we evaluated 7 cases of tularemia who were admitted to our otolaryngology outpatient department, between October 2004-March 2005, with the chief complaint of neck mass and reviewed the literature.
