SQUAMOUS CELL CARCINOMAS METASTATIC TO CERVICAL LYMPH NODES FROM AN UNKNOWN HEAD AND NECK MUCOSAL SITE

İnönü Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, Radyasyon Onkolojisi Anabilim Dalı, Malatya, Türkiye Although metastatic cervical lymph nodes are among the commonly encountered reasons of admission for squamous cell carcinomas of the head and neck mucosal sites, squamous cell carcinomas metastatic to cervical lymph nodes from an unknown head and neck mucosal site are not frequently encountered. In this review, treatment options with demonstrated efficacy and validity in the setting of squamous cell carcinomas metastatic to cervical lymph nodes from an unknown head and neck mucosal site as of today, namely radiation therapy alone, neck dissection alone or radiation therapy in combination with neck dissection, have been analyzed.
