Ankara Numune Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi, 4.KBB Kliniği, Ankara, Türkiye Choanal polyps are masses with paranasal sinus origin commonly located unilateral filling up the nasal cavity towards nasopharynx and sometimes even pharynx. The majority of choanal polyps are of maxillary sinus origin, whereas polyps originating from sphenoid sinus are rarely seen. CT scan of paranasal sinuses and endoscopic examination are the major diagnostic tools. A choanal polyp with sphenoid sinus origin extending to nasal cavity anteriorly and oropharynx posteriorly is diagnosed in our case. Polypectomy and sphenoidotomy was performed by transnasal endoscopic approach. There is no evidence of recurrent disease at the 6th month following surgery.
