FORENSIC APPROACH AND REPORTING IN ENT PRACTICE

In Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) practice, subjects assessed in context of forensic scope, often requires the updating of forensic and legal information. Changes in law and differences in medical approach over time also lead a change in forensic evaluation. In Turkey, the Turkish Penal Code was changed on 26/09/2004 and new forensic medical practice has begun application after June 2005. ENT practices which are in the field of forensic medical evaluation were also changed in terms of general and specific concepts. The aim of this article is to note the basic concepts of legal and forensic medicine and to note the specific assessments as classified with emphasis on the points to be considered in practice. Also with structured case reports this article aimed to present a resource that can help ENT specialists and assistants in forensic medical evaluations and reporting.
