IDIOPATHIC RECURRENT PNEUMOPAROTITIS: CASE REPORT

S.B. Ankara Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi, 2. KBB Kliniği, Ankara, Türkiye Pneumoparotitis is the accumulation of air in the parotid gland with or without inflammation. It may be an occupational problem as seen in glass blowers and artists using mouth instruments, or may be seen in psychiatric patients or idiopathically. Although it is usually a self-limiting disease, recurrent contamination of the parotid ductal system may lead to recurrent infections and sialectasis. Classical treatment method is superficial parotidectomy. In this report, we presented a case of recurrent pneumoparotitis, with no known etiological reasons. Keywords : Pneumoparotitis, parotid
