Materials and Methods: Patients treated with the diagnosis of SSNHL in our hospital between August 2020 and December 2022 and a control group consisting of healthy individuals who applied to our department were included in the study. Laboratory test results of the patients at the time of diagnosis and audiometric measurements at the time of diagnosis and at the 3rd month were used in the study. The SSNHL group was also divided into groups according to the level of hearing loss, audiogram configuration and degree of recovery, and these groups were analyzed in terms of SII, FAR and CAR parameters.

Results: SSNHL group consisted of 145 patients and control group consisted of 78 healthy individuals. SSNHL and control groups were compared in terms of SII, FAR and CAR. All three parameters were higher in the SSNHL group and this difference was significant (p=0.001, p<0.001, p<0.001, respectively, Mann-Whitney U Test). SII, FAR and CAR results were compared according to the degree of hearing loss, audiogram configuration and degree of recovery and no significant difference was observed between groups (Kruskal Wallis Test).

Conclusion: Although the elevation of inflammatory markers such as SII, FAO and CAO supports the inflammation hypothesis in SSNHL; since they are not specific for SSNHL or cochlea, it is not possible to be used them to predict the prognosis and determining the treatment plan of the patients with our current knowledge.
