Objective: The aim of this study was to analysis of balance ability of the deafness and to compare with healthy children. In addition, it was to describe the effects of the hearing sence on movement system in children with hearing impairment.

Material and Method: 260 cases (181 with hearing loss or deafness, 79 cases with no hearing problem) were included in the study randomly. Manuel muscle test was used to evaluate muscle strenght and balance tests were used to evaluate dynamic and static balance ability of the subjects. The scores were obtained from this study were calculated using SPSS for Windows, 9.00 version in order to compare the results belong to both groups.

Results: While the groups were compared regarding muscle strength of trunk and lower extremities and dynamic and static balance ability, it was found that the hearing children have had the best scores otherwise the children with hearing loss have had the lowest scores. When all children with hearing loss were compared each other, the results show that the children with congenital hearing impairment have had the lowest scores.

Conclusion: The results obtained from this study show that the hearing loss effects both movement system and balance ability negatively in children with hearing loss or deafness. Keywords : Hearing Impairment, Muscle Strength, Balance Ability.
