A DERMOID CYST OF ANTERIOR CRANIAL BASE WHICH REACHES A LARGE SIZE

Dermoid cysts originate from embryologic remnants in suture lines. Large dermoid cysts of the anterior cranial base which cause destruction and pressure in surrounding tissues is rare. Herein, a 76-year old woman, with the complaints of severe headache due to dermoid cyst occupying the left sphenoid sinus and expanding its walls, filling the pterygopalatine fossa and extending to the medial part of the infratemporal fossa is presented. Endonasal endoscopic treatment of dermoid cysts localized in anterior cranial base is discussed. Keywords : Dermoid cyst, endoscopy, anterior cranial fossa
