Okmeydanı Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi, KBB, İstanbul, Türkiye Although septoplasty is one of the most common procedures performed in otorhinolaryngology, satisfaction of patients after surgery has still been a problem waiting for a solution. Difference of expectations between the patients and the physicians is the main problem at this subject. Questionarries designed for the assesment of quality of life may guide physicians at this point. In this study, we analyzed short term results of septoplasty by nasal obstruction and septoplasty evaluation questionarry. 48 patients who were operated because of septal deviation and conchal hypertrophy were included in to the study. All of the patients were asked to fill nasal obstruction and septoplasty evaluation questionarry before the operation and 1 month after the operation. The mean score of the questionarry was 64,64 at septolasty group and 62,25 at septoplasty and conchal surgery group before the operation. The mean score was 20,71 at septolasty group and 21,25 at septoplasty and conchal surgery group 1 month after the operation. There was statistically significant difference btween preoperative and postoperative results(p<0,001). On the other hand, there was no difference betwee two groups.
