THE EFFECTS OF CIGARETTE ON MEDICAL AND SURGICAL TREATMENT OF EAR NOSE AND THROAT DISEASES

Its' symptoms occur indirectly on long time and the damages of cigarette smoking are not considered sufficiently. Recently, although the number of cigarette smoking decreasing all around the world because of the preventions, it is estimated that 17 millions of Turkish people smoke cigarette according to the data of 2008. Cigarette has a lot of damages that cause both systemic and local effects. There are less articles in the literature concerning about the effects of cigarette smoking on the surgical and medical success of ear nose and throat diseases. However, the present articles have the knowledge of negative effects of cigarette smoking on postoperative healing and surgical success. Keywords : Cigarette, Ear, Nose, Throat, Destructive Effects
