HEMIFACIAL MICROSOMIA: A CASE REPORT

Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi Tip Fakültesi KBB Anabilim Dalı, KBB, İzmir, Türkiye Hemifacial microsomia is as a non-specific symptom complex, the pathogenesis of which has several different aetiological factors. It is rare to encounter a case of moderate hemifacial microsomia with breathing and feeding difficulties like the case presented in this paper. The severty of the deformities and age of patient are important factors for the managment decision, but the primary goal should be directed to providing vital functions. Since hemifacial microsomia is a rare disorder in clinical practice which varies from mild to severe, a 2,5 months old case is discussed concerning the importance of diagnosis and treatment.
